Spring Blosson Tree
Recommended Age Group: 2 Years +
Materials Required:
- Your Favorite Color Construction Paper
- Unbuttered Popped Popcorn
- Glue
- Brown Paint
- Paint Brush
Instructions:
Flowering trees in spring set the mood for the season and are a terrific craft to create with your child. Just be sure to not eat all the popcorn before you’re able to use it on the page!
On your construction paper, paint the trunk and branches of a tree. You can even paint multiple trees if you’d like, but nice branches are essential as you’ll be gluing the popcorn to the branches to create the “flowers.”
When the paint is dry, squeeze out a spot of glue onto a scrap piece of paper. Help your child to dip a piece of popcorn into the glue and then place it on the tree branches. Repeat this dipping and gluing of the popcorn until the tree branches are completely covered in the flowery white bunches.
Then, when your tree is covered, let the glue dry completely and enjoy your first real vision of spring. While you wait for the glue to dry, feel free to eat the remaining popcorn. Or you can grab some more paper and create an entire grove of flowing trees.
To create multiple trees or an entire spring scene, use a large piece of construction paper or even a piece of poster board. Paint the popcorn pink using a light coat of spray paint before beginning the craft to create cherry blossoms.
